This week we are excited to bring to you a delightful profile on the lovely Hayley Guyver. The exciting day draws nearer for the marriage of Hayley Guyver and James Bright. Plans are being perfected, last invitations sent out and preparations finalised. Two years after meeting at Manly Wine the couple are now engaged to be married in September. We chatted with Hayley to hear more about the details of the big day.
Hayley has chosen her dress, which is a stunning Maggie Sottero designer dress with an intricate combination of lace and alluring sequinned patterns on the bodice. There will be three bridesmaids who will wear long mint coloured dresses with lacy tops, thin straps and long and floaty skirts. The three best men will wear cream chinos, navy blue jackets and light blue shirts. Something old, Hayley will wear some earrings which she has owned for a while, something new, most of her outfit is new including the wedding gown, something borrowed, perhaps something borrowed from her mother and then something blue, most likely a hint of colour on the garter.
Hayley made the big decision to move across the seas to Australia from the United Kingdom several years ago so of course many family and friends still reside there. One of the major difficulties with organising her own wedding has been coordinating the guests and family as they are coming from afar. The rewarding nature however of making the day truly her own is one of the reasons that Hayley has decided not to have a wedding planner and she would not have changed this. Perhaps the only thing Hayley would have altered about her wedding would have been to organise it slightly closer to home.
Living in Sydney and deciding to have the wedding in the picturesque and tropical Byron Bay means that coordinating some aspects has been tricky. The ceremony is set to be had in Federal, which is based 20 minutes out of Byron central in a quintessential, small wooden church. The Church is currently not being used for religious purposes however Hayley’s old pastor will be flying up from Adelaide to marry the couple.
The wedding does not have a theme as such but it will be based of an English county fair with loose, pretty and colourful flowers and hay bales out the front of the church. The flower arrangements were inspired by pintrest and will incorporate an archway of flowers over the door of the church, tree stumps with jars of flowers and posies hanging from the end of the church pews.
Hayley’s love of baking has inspired her to take on the mammoth task of baking her own cake, a Naked Sponge which her mum and her will drive up to Byron and construct upon arrival. The cuisine being served at the wedding will be Argentinian and Italian inspired food, which will involve big, shared platters on long tables.
It was a pleasure hearing about the plans for Hayley and James’s big day and we are excited to hear about the couple in the future and wish them luck for their future together.
